Woden Early Childhood Centre is a community-based not for profit care and education service that is run by a Management Committee of current parents and educators.
We are a 61-place child care centre offering part-time and full-time care for children from birth through to school age. There are four rooms in the centre and children are moved up when they are ready to venture into the next room.
The Centre is open from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks per year.
Care is offered on a weekly or a mix of daily care. We provide consecutive care days; as we believe this encourages children to develop a strong sense of belonging, confidence and independence, which leads to stronger social, emotional and learning experiences.
Families who request two days can have either Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday.
If three days are required we offer Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We do not offer care for one day or four days.
Extra care is available on a casual basis to children already using the Centre part time, however there needs to be vacancies in the room on the extra day requested. Childcare is not available at our Centre once your child attends school.
We feel our Centre is a place to nurture children to be responsible and respectful citizens, who are ready to meet challenges with confidence. We want to help create children who energetic enthusiastic learners, who love life, enjoy new opportunities and are proud of their achievements – no matter how big or small.
